Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today the FBI arrested the so-called MAGA-Bomber, a Florida wingnut whose fingerprint was found on one device and whose DNA was found on two others. Of course, some wingnuts are already howling “Cover-up!” while others are dismissing the bomber as “crazy,” but the National Review’s David French warns fellow conservatives not to dismiss “angry obsessives” as merely insane. Meanwhile, the God-King complained that the bomber’s arrest might slow Republican ‘momentum’, although a NPR/PBS/Marist poll shows Democrats’ lead widening as voters see the midterms as a referendum on the God-King. And while the Cook Political Report’s Jennifer Duffy moved the New Jersey senate race to a toss-up, FiveThirtyEight’s Geoffrey Skelley notes that incumbent Bob Menendez (D) has led every poll … and by a wider average margin than a Mississippi race that Cook rates Lean-R. Today’s arrest is great news for public safety; will it have any measurable effect on the midterms?
