Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today on ABC’s This Week, Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Peter King (R-NY) both rejected the Saudis’ latest excuse that Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed in a ‘brawl’ with Saudi consulate security, but Schiff added:
I think we can see where this is headed. Ultimately the president is going to accept the crown prince’s denials but it’s hard for me to imagine that these orders would have been carried out without the knowledge of [Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman].
Also, a new CNN poll shows Andrew Gillum (D) with a 12-point lead over Ron DeSantis (R) in the Florida governor’s race, and incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D) leading challenger Rick Scott (R) by 5 points in the Florida U.S. Senate race. CNN concedes these wider leads may be a statistical anomaly, but they fit an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll that found Democrats hold a 9-point margin nationwide, powered by women, people of color, and young voters. (Of course, the Journal headlined that poll with the slight bump in the God-King’s approval rating.)
And the God-King wants to eliminate legal protection for trans-people with a federal rule defining gender by genital sex at birth that can only be changed with DNA evidence, so of course a cisgendered white guy warned Democrats not to “take this bait” or “talk about identity for the next 16 days.” So basic civil rights are now a “distraction?”
