This week Australians swamped their parliament with requests for portraits of Queen Elizabeth after Vice Australia published an article on an obscure 1990 law authorizing legislators to give away taxpayer-funded “nationhood material” under a “constituents’ request program.” Also, Meredith, New Hampshire unveiled a statue honoring Archie comic illustrator Bob Montana and Montpelier, Vermont is using goats to trim poison ivy, while Colorado Mesa University will reprint 9200 diplomas – back to 2012 – to correct a typo. Oh, New York state wildlife officers seized a homeowner’s reptile collection, including 3 king cobras and 6 venomous Gila monsters. And a mysterious package drifted to the ground in a New Jersey solar panel field, with this note attached:
