Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today the much-anticipated Department of Justice Inspector General’s report found former FBI Director James Comey “usurped the authority of the Attorney General” in writing a public letter to Congress about ‘new’ emails just days before the election. The report also found that the decision not to charge Clinton with any crime was “was consistent with the Department’s historical approach in prior cases under different leadership, including in the 2008 decision not to prosecute former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales for mishandling classified documents” and, while a handful of agents’ emails “cast a cloud [of possible bias] … We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative actions we reviewed.” Or, as wingnuts read it, Hillary Clinton should be in jail and the God-King should never have been investigated. (Really, that’s how they’re spinning it.)
Meanwhile, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood asked a state judge to dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation, alleging “persistently illegal conduct” including using money donated to that ‘charity’ to pay off business debts, decorate his golf clubs, and stage 2016 campaign events. (Hint: the Trump Foundation’s directors haven’t held a meeting for 19 years and the named treasurer did not know he was on the board.)
Oh, an Israeli intelligence report threw cold water on the God-King’s summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and, at the G7 summit, the God-King parroted Vladimir Putin’s explanation of why Russia seized the Crimea and called Ukraine “one of the most corrupt countries on earth.”
And GOP-led state legislatures are cracking down on campus protests … to protect “free speech.” Does the First Amendment protect only paid conservative speakers?
