Good morning! ::hugggggs::
Hi all,
I’ve decided I need a break from news for a week or two. Since the God-King’s election, it has come to feel like rooting through a dumpster, twice a day, pretty much every day. It’s reached the point where seeing the clock and thinking “Oh, time to do my BPI stuff” starts a sinking feeling in my belly and a cringing tension up my spine. I mean that literally; it’s become a physical response, every day.
So I’ll take a break.
I’ll still post Campus Chatter each morning and I’ll try to do a Campus Question each evening, but the CQ might not be about the day’s news. There’s not enough weird news to do a Silly Saturday-type CQ every day, but I’ll try to find light, non-political stuff.
As for Mixed Nuts, that’ll be a day-to-day thing. Some days we’ll have holiday humor. Other days, we’ll let the Squirrel rest. I’ll still do Ask Ms. Crissie on Sundays, though.
I’ll probably feel like digging into the news again after the New Year. But for now, I need to let my psyche unwind.
Good morning! ::hugggggs::
I’ve found that it’s much better for my blood pressure to have those breaks. I miss the days when I could wake up without dreading the news out of the White House.
My first step was to recognize the new administration hailed the end of the US role as leader of the free world and the role of the US President as leader of the free world. The foreign economic news does not create the cringe in the way that daily news of White House incompetence did. State Democratic news has all been good. I just ignore the concern trolls.
I understand and take all the time you need. Enjoy the holidays and skip the dumpster dive.
Good morning, BPI! It’s currently a cloudy 28 degrees here, and we’re expected to get into the teens tonight. The new computer is here, I’m using it now. It’s still not 100% ready, I still have to move all my files over. Last night was spent doing the tech equivalent of watching paint dry, as Microsoft took its own sweet time updating everything. I know the file transfer is going to take a while, so today is going to be spent doing more of that. My apartment once again looks like a tornado went through, as various boxes are lying around and I’ve had to rearrange to run everything here. It will look better soon, I hope. 🙂 Yesterday was spent finishing up paperwork (it never stops) and doing some impromptu cable repair. The snow/ice came off a roof and took out the cable for a lot of the tenants. I got called because I used to do satellite system installs, it was a few minutes to install some new ends, and get everything put back together. After the run to the hardware store to pick up the new ends, that is.
I see in the news that Republicans are still incompetent. They got their tax bill bumped back to them for a revote in the House, because it turned out several clauses violated Senate rules. Oops.
I have been looking forward to 2018 taxes. I will need a new tax program before I can figure out how things have changed.
Good morning! ::hugggggs::
It is 50 degrees this morning. that may be the days high. Low tomorrow 29 degrees with a cloudy day predicted.
Virginia is still recounting ballots. Thursday is the turn for the 28th District. Republicans enter the recount with an 82 vote lead.
Good morning. Eldest son arrived safely yesterday and is home at last. 🙂 The best Christmas presents seem to arrive on airplanes.
Hugggs and good morning to all!
Clouds and 40 degrees…
Going to stay with the kiddos today.
All is well!
Best, G
