Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today the Washington Post reported that the God-King, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reached a “gentlemen’s agreement” to repeal the debt ceiling. Of course House Republican hardliners are outraged and strategizing with Steve Bannon to replace Speaker Paul Ryan with a ‘real’ conservative like Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum. New York Magazine’s Jonathan Chait wasn’t impressed by the ‘Chuck and Nancy’ deal but he was more approving as news of a possible debt ceiling repeal emerged and Mother Jones’ Kevin Drum seems to have decided the ‘Chuck and Nancy’ deal may be bigger news than he first thought. Is this a real ‘pivot’ by the God-King, and will Senate and House Republicans rebel or work with Democrats to pass legislation?

Editor’s Note: LakeToba’s apartment flooded while he was visiting the BPI Main Campus, and he returned to find the damage was worse than he’d been told. He’s busy sorting that out. His Midday Matinee YouTube Treasures will return when he has things back in order at home.
