Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today PolitiFact assessed the God-King’s tantrum in Phoenix and CNN’s Chris Cillizza spotlighted the 57 most outrageous spewings. The Washington Post’s Philip Bump reported that HUD Secretary Ben Carson may have violated the Hatch Act by being one of the warmup speakers and Jenna Johnson reports that many in the crowd left or began texting and chatting amongst themselves during the God-King’s 72-minute tirade, while former director of National Intelligence James Clapper called the rally “downright scary and disturbing” and asked “How much longer does the country have to, to borrow a phrase, endure this nightmare?” And a Politico/Morning Consult poll showed the God-King’s approval dropping to new lows but a Public Policy Polling survey found him holding steady because his supporters believe whites and Christians are the most discriminated-against people in America. Do ongoing appeals to wingnut persecution fantasies create a stable polling ‘floor’ for the God-King?
