Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today I found no stories about the Sunday Blatherfest at The Hill (my usual Sunday source) or Memeorandum. But there was quite a discussion about free speech, with Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick and Mark Joseph Stern examining the clash of the First and Second Amendments as the ACLU announced they will no longer defend armed protests. Politico Magazine’s Greg Lukianoff and Nico Perrino insisted that even neo-Nazi’s deserve free speech – although the ‘censorship’ they object to was entirely by private actors – and Vox’s Alex Ward interviewed several white protesters in Boston who lamented that yesterday’s protest focused on “politics” and “white supremacists” rather than “principles” and “free speech.” Is it “principled” to wave rosy ideals in the face of real-life consequences?
