Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today House Oversight chair Jason Chaffetz announced he will not seek reelection in 2018. The Washington Post’s Amber Phillips says Chaffetz’s departure is motivated by “ambition” and that he’ll probably run for governor in Utah in 2020 and The Atlantic’s McKay Coppins thinks Chaffetz is simply bored because the God-King’s victory in November meant Chaffetz couldn’t spend the next four years investigating Hillary Clinton, while BuzzFeed’s Alexis Levinson has links to a variety of other rumors about Chaffetz’s motives and plans. Is Chaffetz bailing because he knows he’ll get dragged down by any real investigation of Russian meddling?
