Today fast food mogul Andrew Puzder withdrew himself from consideration for Secretary of Labor as at least 12 Senate Republicans had not yet pledged to support him. A National Review op-ed opposed Puzder, not because he opposes the minimum wage and unions, but because he favors comprehensive immigration reform. He also employed an undocumented housekeeper for several years, and never paid the related taxes. But the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake warns progressive activists not to think this presages more success against the God-King, as every president sees at least one initial cabinet nominee fail to be confirmed. So what, exactly, would be a real victory for progressives?
