“Okay everyone,” Megan announced, “I need your Christmas lists.”
Norm groaned, but Opal and Pete grabbed their crayons.
Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.
Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include Revenge of the Noyeds and Welcome to Weirden. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….
“Do we really need Christmas lists, honey?” Norm asked. “You know what I want.”
Megan chuckled. “You say that every year, darling. And every year, I guess wrong.”
Opal was already busy with her list. “How do you spell tiara?”
“That’s easy,” Pete said. “It’s like piano, but it starts with t and ends with r-a instead of n-o.”
“It might still end with n-o,” Norm mused quietly.
“Hey dad,” Pete asked, “how do you spell Lamborgini?”
“I don’t,” Norm said. He turned to Megan. “See what you’ve turned loose?”
Megan patted her husband’s hand. “Now dear, dreams are important.”
“In that case,” Norm said, reaching for a crayon, “I want an election do-over.”
