Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today President-elect Donald Trump called for imprisonment and revoking U.S. citizenship for anyone who burns a U.S. flag and, from the Irony Department, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell denounced Trump’s demand, noting that the U.S. Supreme Court has held flag-burning is First Amendment-protected speech, while Sen. Joe Manchin (D-ish, WV) said “you do it in front of me, I’m going to beat the hell out of you.” Also, Trump named Obamacare-hater Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) as his Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Paul Krugman estimates that about 5-and-a-half million “Trump chumps” just voted themselves out of health insurance. Does conservatives’ growing rejection of facts spell doom for democracy itself?
