Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today Director James Comey notified House Republicans that the FBI will review newly-discovered emails sent by Huma Abedin to determine if any were classified and whether they relate to the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s email server. Of course House Republicans weaponized Comey’s letter and the media and Trump campaign immediately howled that the FBI had “reopened” the investigation, while Speaker Paul Ryan said Clinton should no longer receive classified briefings. Former DOJ public affairs officer Matthew Miller excoriated Comey’s letter in a tweetstorm, but Newsweek‘s Michele Gorman and Matthew Cooper report that Comey may have believed he had no choice once the FBI found Abedin’s emails. Should Comey have provided more details in his letter … or said nothing at all until after the election?
