“We need to talk about your pig,” Lady Pithworthy said to her husband. “She thinks she’s a cat.”

Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.

Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include House Plants and Crick and Crack. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….

Lady Pithworthy let the belated compliment pass. “And like me, she likes the sitting room sofa by the window, especially when it gets the morning sun. She leaves no room for me.”

“Think of it as Muffin trying to protect your fair skin, my love,” he suggested.

“I think of it as a permanent hollow in the cushion,” she replied.

A shriek interrupted their conversation and Heloise came to the door. “Please forgive the outburst, Milord and Lady, but Muffin just used Snowball’s litter box. The, uh, entire box.”
