Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today Donald Trump said he was “being sarcastic” about inviting Russia to hack Hillary Clinton’s personal and State Department emails, which stunned foreign policy experts and prompted Harry Reid to say intelligence agencies should give Trump fake briefings rather than reveal sensitive information, and the Clinton campaign said National Security Director James Clapper should demand “more than assurances, some sort of proof” that Trump won’t leak classified information. Of course Fox News’ Howard Kurtz blamed the media for not taking Trump’s word that he was joking, and CNBC’s Jake Novak said Democrats took Trump’s bait, arguing that any publicity is good publicity for Trump, especially during the Democratic Convention. Are Kurtz and Novak trying to paint lipstick on a greased pig’s anal orifice?
