Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today Nate Silver said Donald Trump would probably win the election if it were held today – although Hillary Clinton is still favored in both FiveThirtyEight‘s polls-only and polls-plus forecasts – and Erick Erickson is worried that Vladimir Putin will swing the election to Donald Trump as conservative Steve Berman probes the evidence of Russian ties to the DNC hack and concludes that the GOP’s real ticket is Putin-Trump. Meanwhile, California Democratic delegates booed Nancy Pelosi as she encouraged party unity and Bernie Sanders delegates booed Bernie Sanders as he urged them to support Clinton. But those delegates are noisy outliers, as a Pew Research poll found 90% of always-Sanders supporters plan to vote for Clinton. Will Putin’s transparent attempt to sway our election backfire?
Editor’s Note: Linda Lee is safe. She has no power in the North Woods and her RV battery died. She couldn’t get a replacement in the North Woods, so she drove down to the Twin Cities to get a new battery and some storm damage repaired. We hope she will rejoin us soon.
