Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.
Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include Unsolved Files and Dance Like Nobody’s Watching and Sign Here! We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….
Editor’s Note: Today’s tale plays on the dramatic practice of facial dialogue, where characters use expressions and body language rather than words. Thus, none of the characters will say anything in this story.

Celine lifted a stack of papers.
Adrian stiffened, his lips pressed tight.
Dana’s hand crept toward Adrian’s forearm, then stopped and returned to her other hand, fingers entwining as she drew a long, slow breath.
Brad sat forward in his chair.
