Today Speaker Paul Ryan lamented the state of our politics and apologized for talking of “makers” and “takers” in 2016, while AIPAC apologized for Donald Trump’s speech to the group. Also, Jeb Bush endorsed Ted Cruz, although Trump leads both Cruz and John Kasich head-to-head in a new Quinnipiac poll, largely because a plurality of GOP voters think whites are losing to people of color. And both Trump and Cruz responded to the Brussels attack by promising a police state. Did Speaker Ryan’s apology duck the GOP’s role in creating the problem?
