Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today Esquire and NBC News released a new survey on American rage. Among the findings: whites are angrier than people of color, and the anger is driven not by actual hardship (the working class are less angry than the middle class) but by ‘perceived disenfranchisement,’ i.e.: people not getting as much as they think they deserve. Of course Jennifer Rubin blames President Obama, while the New York Times assesses how this rage is affecting the 2016 race. Will this anger hurt a political insider like Hillary Clinton more than other candidates?
(Note: By “working class” I mean people earning a median income or less. By “middle class” I mean those earning incomes in the 51st-90th percentiles.)
