“Good morning!” the teacher said. “I’m Miss Meyers.”
“Shut up!” Amy heard. “I’m Mrs. Gargoyle.” (More)
Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.
Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include The Fly Park and To Be Determined. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….
“I’m passing out this survey,” Miss Meyers said as she handed a stack of pages to the first student in each row. “It’s just to help me get to know you: your favorite foods, TV shows, music, stuff like that.”
“The interrogation begins now,” Amy heard as she watched Mrs. Gargoyle adjust the bright lights into the students’ eyes. “We have ways to make you talk.”
“If you don’t have a favorite, leave it blank,” Miss Meyers said, smiling. “Please fill out your surveys while I take attendance.”
“I dare you to leave a blank spot on that page,” Amy heard Mrs. Gargoyle hiss. “Now keep quiet or I’ll get out the ruler and start whacking knuckles.”
