Today the College Board issued a revised curriculum for AP U.S. History, one day after student protests sparked a successful recall petition against three Jefferson County, Colorado school board members who tried to block last year’s curriculum. The new curriculum names more of the Founders and adds an “American Identity” section with the phrase “American Exceptionalism,” while removing the word “bellicose” from a description of Ronald Reagan and expanding on “America’s military achievements.” Are the new guidelines “less biased” or just “differently biased?”
