Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today two Israeli polls found Isaac Herzog’s Zionist Union leading Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party. Adding likely coalition allies, Haaretz projects next week’s elections will yield Herzog 56 seats to Netanyahu’s 55, but Agence France-Presse projects Netanyahu emerging with 58 seats to Herzog’s 54, with 61 seats needed to win. A defiant Netanyahu complained of a “tremendous effort, worldwide, to topple” him, but both Gallup and Israeli polls showed his speech to Congress didn’t help. Would his possible defeat be “a watershed event for Israel?”
