“Oh no!” Cue said. “I’m going behind the 8-ball!”

“Everyone says that like it’s bad,” Eight muttered. “And I don’t even have a behind.” (More)

Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.

Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include The Goat Files and Chef Blech. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….

“Sure you do,” Four said, “and Cue’s looking at it.”

“Actually, you are, Four,” Eleven replied.

“But how can I have a behind?” Eight asked. “I’m a ball!”

Twelve giggled. “What my red-striped friend means is that Cue can’t get to Four because you’re in the way.”

“I prefer red-and-white,” Eleven said. “Red-striped sounds like I got spanked.”

“True,” Twelve said, “and I barely kissed you.”

Chalk shuddered. “Eww. Too. Much. Information.”

“Speaking of,” Felt said with a cough, “Too. Much. Chalk.”

“Don’t blame me,” Chalk said. “Stick goes in my hollow and twists and turns and….”

“Too! Much! Information!” all fifteen balls cried in unison.

Have fun!
