“I get to fetch the Christmas tree!” Little Plow sang. “I get to fetch the Christmas tree!

“Y’know,” Rake send to Woodsplitter, “that guy could make me hate Christmas.” (More)

Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.

Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include Genius Air and Minnie Claus. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….

Note: Today’s characters appeared previously in The Big Plow, Little Plow and Komatsu and Little Plow and the Mixer.

“What’s he so excited about?” Komatsu asked.

“Every year the Big Guy goes out to the forest and comes back with the family Christmas tree,” Dirt Bike said. “Little Plow is the only one who can navigate those trails. Besides me.”

“And you can’t hold a Christmas tree,” Little Plow said. “I’m the only tool in the shed that can do this job.”

“Ahem,” Chainsaw said. “I help.”

“Pfft,” Little Plow said. “I could probably pull the tree over without you.”

“Komatsu could,” Chainsaw replied. “You, not so much.”

Komatsu blushed. “Aww, thanks, Chainsaw!”

Little Plow steamed.

Have fun!
