Today Dallas nurse Amber Vinson was released from Emory University Hospital after recovering from Ebola. Her colleague Nina Pham recovered in Maryland last week, as did two earlier patients in Atlanta and one in Nebraska, and Dr. Craig Spencer is recovering in New York. Only one Ebola patient has died in the U.S., but Wired’s Maryn McKenna explained the risks if treatment in Africa doesn’t improve, risks that ill-considered quarantines make worse. But Gov. Chris Christie doubled down today, attacking the CDC. Is the Ebola panic an election-season gambit?
