Today Oregon’s KATU-TV reported that GOP challenger Dennis Richardson had turned a 13-point deficit into a 17-point lead over incumbent Gov. John Kitzhaber. But the Oregonian noted that the KATU poll questioned less than half the samplevoters who were “closely following” scandal allegations – and the overall poll showed Gov. Kitzhaber still leading by 13 points. Political Wire’s Taegan Goddard publicized the KATU poll but recognized its flaws minutes later. Was this poll an “in-kind contribution from [KATU-TV] to the Richardson campaign?”
