Today President Obama named Ron Klain to lead the federal response to Ebola. Klain was chief of staff to Vice President Al Gore and again to Vice President Joe Biden, and is respected in the administration as someone who understands both policy and politics. But after demanding an ‘Ebola Czar,’ the right attacked the choice and called for a Surgeon General, despite having blocked Dr. Vivek Murthy, President Obama’s Surgeon General nominee, because he insists gun violence is a public health issue. Will voters turn against the latest GOP flip-flop?
