“I want to look young and fresh and fun,” Mabel said.
Nancy smiled. “Let me bring in my grandkids.” (More)
Midday Matinee is our people watching, people doing and people being feature. Join the Woodland Creatures for an afternoon break.
Welcome back to Tuesday’s Tale, a weekly feature where we collaborate to write a story. Previous Tuesday’s Tales include The Bored Game and Blox. We follow the basic rules of the “Yes, And” improvisational game – accept everything written so far as part of the story, and add your own paragraph (or so) where the last addition left off – except you needn’t begin your addition with “Yes, and.” I’ll start the story….
“Start with her hair, gramma,” Olivia said. “The cool kids have it long on one side and short on the other.”
Mabel looked at the 11-year-old. “How long … and how short?”
“Don’t worry,” Olivia said. “I’ll tell gramma when to stop.”
“Rachel and I will do your nails,” 9-year-old Penny said. “We know all the fun colors.”
“Toenails too,” Rachel said as she pulled off Mabel’s shoes.
“Be careful not to tickle her,” Nancy said.
Rachel pouted. “Gramma, I’m not six anymore.”
“But I am,” Serena said. “And I’ll do your makeup.”
