Good morning!
We have 75 degrees, and will cool down for the weekend, or so they claim… Gas Girl continues to deal with the Hand, Foot, Mouth virus, she has blisters to prove it, says the only comparison would be to a burn victim… I went by yesterday, took her some cantaloupe, Adler was asleep on her lap, but she says he’s recovering rather well…
Ran some errands yesterday morning, before it got too hot. It’s been warm enough that I just hang around inside during the afternoon, until it cools off a bit. Picked up 6 20′ pieces of PVC and fittings yesterday. Will get that greenhouse project moving again soon as it’s cooler outside, which should be tomorrow.
Hope all are well!
Best, G
I am so, so sorry about Gas Girl. 🙁 I hope she improves swiftly.
Glad to hear you’re about to have a bit of a cool-down. You must be itching to get at the greenhouse. Hanging around indoors when it’s that hot sounds wise, however. Hope you have things to entertain you. 🙂
Yes I do! 🙂
I do hope it cools down so you can work outside comfortably G. Are you just picking a new name everyday? I liked Artie Choke but I like this one too. Don’t you click that little box that says remember me?
My best to Gas Girl. Does it take longer for adults to recover?
Well, all that is sorta unknown right now… It’s supposedly rare for adults to get it, but she very surely has it. She said she was a tiny bit better yesterday, but oy, even so…..
Good morning! It’s currently a mostly clear 58 degrees here, and supposed to be a nice sunny day. Back (finally) to the field today, and then the weekend off.
The meeting yesterday was … contentious … although not in the way I thought it would go. It got derailed pretty quickly by some of the other supervisors who started asking questions that were of the “obvious” and “oh, jeez, not that again” category. It also didn’t help that our top boss wasn’t really wasn’t prepared for the start, and that he gets very nervous speaking in front of groups. So, basically, a wasted day. We are getting new software next year for office/financial stuff, and they covered the pilot results, which also ended up derailing things, as questions were being asked that would be answered with the training classes they’re going to be giving before roll-out. All-in-all, a pretty boring and wasted day. (sigh)
I’m sorry it turned into a wasted day, Norbrook. 🙁 I know you had issues that you felt it would be important to address. Really too bad.
I hope today goes better for you.
I guess I’ll be happy for you that the sun is back and that it was only a one day meeting. Could have wasted two days.
Okay, the Bippiescopes had me laughing out loud. I can tell what time of year it is. 😉
News on this front… one of the new faucets leaked overnight, leaving a ceiling stain below. The thing is clearly defective (I mean seven faucets went in without a problem). We checked it out, and no, it wasn’t our installation. Color me unhappy. Back to Lowe’s we go….
Hope everyone has a great day. Hugggs to all!
Sorry you had a leak. Can you just replace a ceiling tile, or will it require trying to get the stain out of painted surface?
With the number of water related stains on my popcorn ceiling, from a leaky air conditioner, from other plumbing leaks, I am debating whether to look for a flat paint that is off-white (the ceiling paint is 15 years old) or just live with it. Certainly the entire ceiling needs repainting, well out of my budgetary reach at this time.
OTOH, since this seems to happen at least once a year for some reason, I’m thinking just living with it is the best option. I’ll no sooner paint than I’ll have another one.
My water curse in action.
“Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, It’s off to Lowe’s we go” Your ear worm for the day.
For some things, six out of seven is not good enough. Hope number eight works well.
Woohoo… I can apparently remove the water stains with full-strength bleach in a spray bottle.
Howsomever… Ugh. Everything must be covered and protected. I’m giving this some thought before I give someone a spray bottle and a ladder… I know what full-strength bleach can do. But I might spot test a small area, maybe with a sponge. Heh.
Now the wheels are spinning….
An exciting and fun weekend should be in store. Tonight, I’m finally getting back to my hair salon. I’m going to let her do whatever to make me look more stunning!
Then, tomorrow I’m meeting friends in the Amana Colonies. We’ll have a good lunch, then spend time going from shop to shop, maybe even getting some early Christmas shopping done.
Brave words to let a hairdresser do whatever she wants. I hope you like the results.
I thought you looked stunning already, Glenda.
Christmas shopping!! Never to early.
Wow, turning yourself over to the hairdresser. You’re very adventurous, and I hope you’re thrilled with the results. 🙂
Enjoy your lunch tomorrow. Sounds like a lot of fun brewing.
Busy day yesterday. Distributed the Congregation Newsletter and the invitation to the Annual Dinner on September 29th. Now the job of collecting the RSVPs. We have 8 out of 40 so far. We will wait a week before we set up the calling committee.
I hope you don’t have to chase down too many non-responders, Jim.
Wow! Double Wow!
Yesterday, my friend John and I canvassed for Zephyr Teachout in the reliably Democratic ED#1 in Southampton Town, the great village of Sag Harbor, that is. More great now.
These were the results: Yes for Teachout/Wu = 17; yes for Cuomo/Hochul = 0.
Yup, we pitched a shutout.
Now, we know Sag Harbor is a progressive town; we know ED#1 is liberal, but 17-0!!! Yowza!
It wasn’t liked we needed to prompt them, twist their arm, cajole, cadge or beg. People were handing us back the literature saying we don’t need this, spare your spiel, go to your next stop. As much as anything, the folks are up to here with Cuomo’s attitude and personality. “Arrogant” is a word we heard.
The Democratic establishment is kicking into high gear to support the ticket. Local mucky mucks with NYS juice are rallying for Cuomo/Hochul, but it aint working for everybody.
That is great news, Mike! Oh, I hope it’s an omen. 😀 Keep up the good work!
Great news! I hope the ends up like the Dewey beats Truman headlines and that ZT knocks Prince Andrew out in the primary.
Good Morning. I think we’re done with the rain for a couple of days. 🙂 I am going down to the cities later this afternoon. Like Glenda I am getting a hair cut. Unlike Glenda I want a clear idea of what will be happening.
Just to cheer people up and reassure you that every place has its set of crazy people, I offer this update on the on-going saga of the GOP’s endorsed candidate for State Supreme Court. You can’t make this stuff up.

That was a wild story! Amazing. You definitely can’t make this up.
I hope you enjoy your time in the Cities. 🙂 Have a lot of fun!
