Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today Paul Krugman discussed “the Medicare miracle,” a CBO report showing that Medicare spending has slowed by an estimated $1000 per enrollee. And despite Reihan Salam’s unblinking lie in the National Review, the CBO said the slowdown was not caused by the recession, but by policy changes in the Affordable Care Act and the estimated 2019 Medicare budget has fallen by $95 billion, more than the costs of unemployment benefits, welfare, and Amtrak combined. Is Mahablog’s Barbara O’Brien correct that only progressives will hear this good news?
