Today immigration reform advocate and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas was detained at the McAllen Airport in Texas, where he was traveling to tell the stories of children and families fleeing violence in Central America. Three years ago, Vargas wrote a New York Times story outing himself as an undocumented immigrant. United We Dream director Cristina Jimenez said the Border Patrol should release Vargas, but Hot Air’s Noah Rothman said that would be “liberal privilege.” Will Vargas’ arrest help us see inside a broken system?
