Today NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from participating in NBA activities and fined $2.5 million, the maximum allowed by the league’s constitution. Last night Dallas Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban publicly called for Sterling to receive “the maximum punishment,” and several of the Clippers’ corporate sponsors have pulled their contracts, but selling the Clippers could net Sterling almost $1 billion.
