This week I was a delegate to the Florida Democratic Party Convention in Orlando. Democratic National Committee Chair and Florida U.S. House Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz delivered a brilliant opening address, and we were thrilled to introduce newly-elected Florida House Rep. Amanda Murphy to the FDP. I attended panel discussions on education, health care, and marriage equality in Florida, and training seminars on VoteBuilder and best practices for voter registration and GOTV. It was a wonderful event, and I was thrilled to meet Rep. Wasserman Schultz and get a signed copy of her new book, For the Next Generation: A Wake-Up Call to Solving Our Nation’s Problems. I’m reading it now and it will be the topic of a Morning Feature series soon.
