Tonight’s question and social banter here. (More)

Today Speaker John Boehner predicted “a whale of a fight” on the debt ceiling, saying Republicans will not increase it without unspecified cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, while Treasury Secretary Jack Lew told CNBC that the Obama administration will not negotiate on the debt ceiling. Secretary Lew also moved the deadline up to mid-October and that leaves Speaker Boehner no wiggle room to appease House radicals. Is Josh Barro right that “Republicans are full of it. … This. Is. Not. Going. To. Happen.”?
