Today the New England Journal of Medicine published The Oregon Experiment – Effects of Medicaid on Clinical Outcomes. Of course, Obamacare opponents emphasized that Medicaid did not significantly reduce hypertension, high cholesterol, or blood glucose levels and brushed off data that Medicaid significantly reduced the economic stress of illness and rates of clinical depression, and increased preventive care visits. Is this study “a huge ‘STOP’ sign to Obamacare Medicaid expansion” or “the study that Republicans who reject Medicaid must read?”
