This week I emailed my U.S. House representative and senators to express my disgust with their rushing through a bill to restore funds for air traffic controllers – and thus ease delays for themselves and other air travelers – without addressing any of the other hardships being caused by the sequester. However, I did not complain to the White House after President Obama signed the bill, as it was passed by a unanimous voice vote in the Senate and a veto-proof majority in the House.

If you haven’t yet, please call or email your representatives and senators and urge them not to pass piece-by-piece ‘fixes’ for the sequester, leaving those with the least voice in government – children and the working poor – to shoulder the entire burden of an ill-conceived austerity.
