Today President Obama unveiled a $100 million project to map human brain activity, noting that “every dollar we spent to map the human genome has returned $140 to our economy.” Also, Sen. Tom Carper (DE) cited the Golden Rule in joining the ranks of Democratic leaders endorsing marriage equality. And Sen. Mark Kirk (IL) became the second Republican to likewise, saying “Life comes down to who you love and who loves you back – government has no place in the middle.” Could a federal marriage equality bill pass the Senate by 2016?
