Today Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and John McCain (R-AZ) held a press conference to preempt President Obama’s reported plans to nominate U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to replace Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. President Obama quickly responded, calling the criticism “outrageous” and saying of those who attack Ambassador Rice “they’ve got a problem with me.” Buoyed by the prospect of filibuster reform and a now 10-seat Senate majority, can President Obama make bolder personnel appointments in his second term?
