Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today on Fox News Sunday, neoconservative William Kristol said “[Mitt Romney’s] gotta be mature and sensible and assume the American public is willing to hear some hard truths and explain his tax plan.” Yet on the same show Paul Ryan said “It would take me too long to go through all of the math” on the Romney tax plan. Which do you think is more likely: (1) the Romney tax plan math works as promised but can’t be explained in only 36 days; or, (2) for Romney to reveal the details of his tax plan would be “suicidal?”

Oooh! I love multiple choice questions! 😆 I pick…. #2. I don’t think Ryan has any “math” except “I made this up, and it sounded good.” Any “details” would definitely be suicidal, since I doubt anyone really thinks that you can find enough “savings” that would justify the tax cuts he’s planning on.
So Ryan says there’s not enough time to explain the math of the Romney tax plan? Really? That’s their excuse?
Here’s a thought. Have a staffer write up something. Include enough details so independent analysts like the CBO, Tax Policy Center, etc. can assess it. Post it in some publicly available forum. Like the internet or something. Surely they could manage that in 36 days.
Or they could admit that they’re planning to “broaden the tax base” by raising taxes on hard-working Americans, to partially offset yet more special favors to billionaires and big corporations.
By the way, the Squirrel got ranty on Twitter this afternoon. Apparently this Apple iPhone5 ad set him off:
His response:
We have two votes for the second choice in this household.
“It would take me too long to go through all of the math,” Ryan said.
The key word is “me”. It will take more then 36 days to run the math past the focus groups and Koch Brothers. With out permission, Ryan can’t go through the math.
Gotta go with #2, since you provided no #3 such as: They are full of (compost).
If you can’t explain something that affects every American in the time this campaign has been going on, why should voters give you 4 years? I vote for #2 also.
