This week I staffed our county Democratic Party campaign office on Wednesday afternoon. Several people came into the office to get bumper stickers, window boards, buttons, and yard signs for President Obama and our state and local Democrats. Almost everyone who came in volunteered to help with phone banking, canvassing, or other activities, and I was delighted by their enthusiasm about the coming election. We are also still at work in our campaign to encourage registered Democrats to vote by mail, with volunteers now calling from our office. Statewide data show that 84% of those registered to vote by mail will cast ballots and vote in down-ballot races. The data also show that if we get anything near parity in voting by mail, our early voting and election day GOTV efforts will get us over the top.
I donated more than I should have to OFA. I hope I get some time very soon to return to calling. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you for your activism, winterbanyan. Those donations definitely matter. 🙂
I’m with you Winter. I called in yesterday to here from President Obama, and he said he really needs for us to give up to $2,500 before his acceptance speech. I later got an email from the campaign saying I could give up to $83. So, I decided to go all in. My husband won’t be very happy when my credit card statement comes in, so hopefully it won’t show up until next month. I figured it’s an investment for my children’s future as my son is supposed to graduate college in June, and my daughter graduates either at the same time or six months later.
I should have previewed before I hit post. Should be hear not here. 😳
