Today the Brookings Institution found that any tax plan that would fit Mitt Romney’s vague proposals must, by mathematical necessity, raise taxes on middle- and low-income families. Meanwhile, after denying yesterday that he mentioned culture in Israel, today Romney tried to explain why he did, with a defense so weak The Atlantic‘s James Fallows wrote “it is fair to wonder about Mitt Romney’s basic skill level as a politician.” Might that explain why Romney continues to struggle with swing-state voters?
