A polar bear researcher has been asked by the FBI to take a polygraph test about a misplaced routing slip and his research into dead polar bears. As once scientist put it, they are reviewing his research as if they were a peer review committee. Do you think any arm of the government should get involved in criminal investigations of scientific research that is peer-reviewed, even if it is questionable? How will this affect scientists in general?
