|Tonight’s Campus Question|
Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (R-NY), whose district was flooded by Hurricane Irene, joined the list of Republicans who demand any federal disaster relief spending be offset by other budget cuts. She likened not getting help restoring a flooded community to missing a family vacation, and said the natural disaster does not change the economic disaster of the federal budget, and said this is “the most massive deficit spending in our peacetime history.” Will this play well with constituents whose roads and sewers and homes have been destroyed … or with U.S. troops who may be surprised to hear they’re not at war?
Good evening and fist bumps! (but feel free to ::hugggg:: amongst yourselves).
