Texas governor Rick Perry has thrown his hat into the crowded GOP 2012 presidential ring touting job growth in Texas as one of his qualifications. Out of the 1 million jobs created during Perry’s 10 year tenure, one third were public sector jobs (many of which will be lost in his next round of budget cutting) and many of the rest were minimum wage jobs earning $7.25 per hour (under $14,000 per year). How many McJobs does the average Texas family need to support a family of four?
