Hedge fund trader Raj Rajaratnam was found guilty on “all 14 conspiracy and securities fraud charges of insider trading” yesterday and faces 25 years in prison. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is currently investigating Wall Street banks over their financial dealings during the run up to the financial crisis of 2008. Will this conviction make it easier for the SEC to reach settlements with some of the banks under investigation?
