This week Evening Focus brings you the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance for you to be a featured lecturer at BPI Campus. UPDATE (More)

SPRING BREAK UPDATE: This week the Evening Focus lectern will be filled with impromptu speakers who may show up in cutoff shorts and sandals as we drag them off the beaches. Check Campus Question each evening at 6pm Eastern for programming notes regarding upcoming evening content.

First, our thanks to last week’s Evening Focus lecturers.

On Monday and Wednesday HurrikanEagle presented a series on grassroots organizing. Starting with a history lesson on Monday, he went on to explain how we can win the future by breaking new ground. This series has earned HurrikanEagle faculty tenure and I am certain he is quaking in fear eagerly awaiting his new title which will be unveiled tomorrow morning in Morning Feature Meta Monday.

On Saturday, JanF and friends recapped the people powered political uprisings from Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and Florida in a Silly Saturday. These protests have literally turned the country upside down.

Please check them out if you missed them.

Which brings us to the upcoming week.

I looked in the schedule, checked my email and found Nothing. As in “No one has yet signed up” (being a glass-half-full kind of gal).

Spring breaks are rolling through the country and many of the faculty are out of town, out of touch or out of ideas.

This is your chance. Sign up to host an Evening Focus series. And then you can be the Author being talked about in this boilerplate (which I need to keep here so that I can write next week’s Set-up Sunday — we recycle everying at BPI Campus):

Check back for any scheduling changes as sometimes an author’s personal schedule may necessitate a change.

The authors will be available in the comment threads later in the evening to answer questions and ask new ones. And as with all BPI Campus posts, our students and faculty often comment from other time zones (or levels of insomnia) and will likely add thoughts throughout the evening and into the next several days. Please check back and pick up a thread, reply to a comment or post a comment on something about the post that struck you later. Comments are checked often by Authors and other students.

Note: At present, we do not have any Evening Focus lecture scheduled for Monday, March 21st through Friday, March 25th. If you have an interest in presenting either a two-day or three-day series, please volunteer in the comments or contact us. We also have no authors scheduled for the week of March 28th.

Now a word from our sponsors:

Evening Focus, like Morning Feature (but more convenient for evening and West Blogistan readers) allows Authors to explore topics over two or more days. Authors wishing to contribute to Evening Focus should contact NCrissieB to get on the group email list set up to work out posting times and other details.

We also have openings for our campus soapbox, Furthermore!, our afternoon people-watching series Midday Matinee, and our evening environmental series Our Earth.

If you are already a BPI Author, you will find a complete list of category openings in the Authors Notepad in your Dorm Room. To reserve a slot, type in your user name, topic, and date, and click “Save Notes.” The note will be removed when you are added to our Schedule.

If you are not yet a BPI Author and would like to contribute at BPI, please contact the BPI Webmistress.

REMINDER TO AUTHORS: All posts at BPI Campus roll out on a schedule. Please do not Schedule or Publish a post outside of the time slot that has been assigned to you and please allow time for editorial review. For more information, refer to Morning Feature: Editor’s Notes (and Furthermore! – It’s fun! for the lighter side).

Don’t forget to check out our daily Campus Question, part of Today’s Buzz. The Campus Question poses a question to jump start the conversation for our students and faculty gathering in the Student Union waiting for evening classes to begin. It posts at 6pm Eastern time and is open all night and into the next day. And don’t miss Campus Chatter, our morning buzz, with today in history and chitterings posting at 6am Eastern (for you west coast folks, that is either “pretty darned early” or “pretty darned late”).

Happy Sunday evening! And Happy Sunday afternoon to those in the leftier time zones.
