Today’s output from Blogistan Polytechnic Instituteโ€™s state-of-the-art HEMMED (High-Energy Meta Mojo Elucidation Detector) machine are best wishes to all on the Solstice.

The Winter Solstice “occurs exactly when the Earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun at its maximum of 23ยฐ 26′. Though the winter solstice lasts only a moment in time, the term is also a turning point to midwinter or the first day of winter.”

That moment will occur at UTC 23:38 today or 5:38 p.m. Central Time, which is my time zone.

To my pagan friends, my agnostic and atheist friends, my Christian friends and all who cherish the earth and follow her cycles I wish you a Blessed Solstice.

And I leave you with a song and some pictures. The video was chosen for the song and the pictures both: the pictures especially for my daughter who was told just last week that the Solstice Fairy is not real. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ What is real, however, is the spirit of giving that the Solstice Fairy is a symbol for … a giving that goes beyond material gifts but includes giving the best of ourselves to each other. With love, understanding and patience.

Enter the night and you’ll find the light,
That will carry you to your dreams.
Enter the night, let your spirit take flight,
In the field of infinite possibilities

On the longest night we search for the light,
And we find it deep within.
Open your eyes to embrace what is wise,
And see the light of your own soul shining.

Wrap up in the cloak of starry darkness my child,
And you’ll find the center of all things.
For from this space of the deepest dark place,
Life Eternal does spring.

So when you find that spark
When you dream in the dark,
Hold it close to your heart and know.
All that you see is all that can be
When you give birth to the dreams of your soul.

Happy Tuesday to everyone and fist bumps!

The BPI Campus Progressive agenda:
1. People matter more than profits.
2. The earth is our home, not our trash can.
3. We need good government for both #1 and #2.
