Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today on Meet the Press, Gov. Bobby Jindal said “I’m for closing those loopholes,” but only to offset lower tax rates. On Fox News Sunday, Sen. Tom Coburn said President Obama is hyping sequester risks, saying there are “easy ways to cut this money that the American people will never feel.” And on CNN’s State of the Union, Sen. John McCain defended angry debates with voters, saying “that’s what town halls are supposed to be about – that’s why they’re always packed.” Did you “visually see” the latest blather from Gov. Jan Brewer?

Apparently Gov. Brewer “visually saw” drug cartels “staging” to cross the U.S. border during a recent visit. Or so she says. Or so I visually saw that she said. I didn’t aurally hear it, and something olfactorily smells about her story….

I am visually reading a fantasy fiction book. The characters have special powers to use air, fire, earth and water as defense strategies. If I had a special power I might consider rendering most Republicans silent for one Sunday morning. Just a thought.

I love their unwillingness to admit that they’re … screwed. The cuts will hurt, and there’s no way to as Jindal put it “close loopholes to offset lower taxes.” That’s like (ahem) having sex for virginity.
Seriously, they’re caught in the right wing alternative universe, and I believe the only way they’re going to get a reality check is if it all implodes around them and they’re booted out of office for a number of years to come. Which the demographics say they’re heading towards..
