Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)
Today on Meet the Press, Sen. John McCain said Chuck Hagel “will probably have the votes to be confirmed” when the Senate returns next Monday, and said President Obama was attempting to undermine immigration reform by offering a White House plan. Over on ABC’s This Week, Rep. Paul Ryan said he’s not sure if he’ll run for president in 2016, and on Fox News Sunday Sen. Lindsey Graham wanted to cut Obamacare to protect the defense industry. Aren’t you glad they still broadcast cartoons on Sunday mornings?

I’m glad I don’t watch the Sunday morning
news showscartoons. Although apparently there was a plot twist this morning, as NBC’s David Gregory committed an act of journalism. Was this an accident, as some say? I’m not saying that. I’m just asking the question….February 17, 2013 at 6:16 pm
Even a stopped clock is right once in a while. Twice a day, as I recall. I think Gregory had a sudden attack of competence there, or maybe, just maybe the overall realization is happening in the press that there’s no “there” there.

Cartoons do make much more sense!
Of course Lindsey wants to protect military spending. I think it has to do with all the military bases in his state. Why, if spending is cut, it might mean that Republican voters might not get their federal paychecks, and Republican businesspeople might not get business from the federal government.
Which means that they might … primary him
and find someone who’s much purer when it comes to low taxes and less government spending.

Here I thought that with the Congress on recess that perhaps we’d get a break from this silliness.
I’m not a bourbon drinker, but I’m happy for those who are that Maker’s Mark is restoring their product to its original 90 proof alcohol content. Their customers complained and they listened. Novel approach. Perhaps Congress could take a hint and listen to citizens. They could practice government for a change.

Sunday Morning is reserved here for reading Campus Chatter, Morning Feature and Going to Church. The Guardian reported on a different service, but I went to ours in Beltway Blogistan..
