Campus Question – February 6, 2013

Tonight’s question, greetings, and banter here. (More)

Today Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy hinted that Hillary Clinton may have had a facelift since she left office as Secretary of State, because she looks younger in the photo on her new website than she did while testifying for the Senate two weeks ago. Might such keen analysis be why a new Public Policy Polling survey found “Democrats trust everything except Fox, and Republicans don’t trust anything other than Fox?”

Doocy needs go back to doing what he was good at … stupid news stories. That’s where he got his start in “journalism,” doing the “weird news” bits for a DC television station. Think Jim Carrey’s character in “Bruce Almighty.”

Honest to FSM, a facelift shows obvious signs, and you don’t heal up in two weeks! You’d think he’d know that given all the plastic he’s around on his network.

Hint to Steve Doocy: It’s entirely possible that the photo on the new website was taken before Secretary Clinton testified in the Senate. The photo might even have been taken before she got the flu, fell, hit her head, was hospitalized, and suffered partial vision loss … all of which might explain why she looked much older in her Senate appearance than she did in a photo taken a few weeks earlier.

But hey, it’s easier to throw out sexist speculation about facelifts … then claim you didn’t say what you quite obviously did say.

Yes, this kind of ‘analysis’ (emphasis on the ‘anal’) is why Fox News is the most trusted network among Republicans … and no one else.

Update: Doocy took to Twitter on Wednesday to claim that he was actually describing Clinton’s new website, not her face.

    To borrow a word, bullpucky.

When it comes to asking Americans which single outlet they trust the most and least out of the ones we polled on, Fox News once again wins both honors. 34% say it’s the one they trust the most, compared to 13% for PBS, 12% for CNN, 11% for ABC, 8% for MSNBC, 6% for CBS, and 5% each for Comedy Central and NBC.
Even more Americans identify Fox News as the outlet they trust the least- 39% give its that designation to 14% for MSNBC, 13% for CNN, 12% for Comedy Central, 5% for ABC and CBS, 3% for NBC, and 1% for PBS.

I like that Comedy Central is surveyed with all the other news organizations.

Fox news is making stuff up again. Very tacky. Beyond the limits of common decency. If she were so inclined, could Clinton sue them?
